Apps and sites,
built end to end
by one person.

XSV Development. Design, build and ship, all three by the same person. Shipped: the North Shore Beefs app and site, a creator hub for a 250K-follower account, and Bracketeer, on its way to both stores.

Now shipping

Bracketeer, the argument engine.

Build a bracket for anything: sports, movie villains, snacks, your coworkers. Put it in front of a crowd and let the votes settle it. Five formats in one private room: brackets, pick’em cards, squares sheets, survivor pools and golf field pools, all feeding one league table.

Mine end to end: the app, the sound engine, the sync server, the store listings. Every pixel and every sound is generated at runtime. No image assets, no icon packs, no UI kit, no sound files. The whole thing is about 119 KB gzipped.

// 01 / Selected work

Things that are live right now.

All work
// 02 / Services / Scope

Pricing without the runaround.

Four tiers by scope, and a fixed price inside 48 hours. Tell me what you need and you get a real number and a real date before any work starts, not an hourly rate and a discovery call. One person builds it: designer, developer and project manager are all the same guy, so there is less to bill for and less to lose in translation.

// Turnarounds below are averages from similar past projects. Real timelines flex with scope, how fast revisions come back, and how gnarly the build gets. Could be sooner, could be a little later. The number and the date get locked together, once, when the scope is locked.

// FAQ
Do you do logos / branding / Photoshop work?+
Yes. I design what I build: layout, type, logo work, illustration. Same hand that draws tattoos draws your interface. If your project needs design, it's in the quote, not a subcontract.
Why no template-based stuff?+
Because you can buy a Squarespace template for $20 and I'd be charging you for time, not value. I build custom or I don't build it.
What if my project lands between tiers?+
We talk. Pricing isn't a vending machine. If The Build is too much and The Drop is too little, we figure out a middle scope.
Do you do ongoing maintenance?+
Yes. Flat monthly retainer for content updates, security patches, and small tweaks. Quoted after launch based on what you actually need.
Where are you based / do you work remote?+
Winchendon, MA, western part of the state, near the NH border. Remote with clients anywhere. Local meets welcome.
Why should I hire you over an agency?+
Agencies have layers: account manager, designer, developer, project manager, all billing you. With me, you're talking to the person actually building it. Faster, cheaper, less broken-telephone.
What if my budget is tight?+
Reach out anyway. The prices are fair and they aren't carved in stone when the project is right. Tell me the number you have and what you need out of it.
// 03 / About

One person. End to end.

I'm CJ. I build apps and websites for a living: design through deployment, including the parts nobody wants to own. the database, the admin panel, the store submission, the server that has to stay up afterwards.

Most freelance devs can't design. Most designers can't ship. Most agencies charge three times over for the gap between them. I sit in the middle of all of it, which means one person making the call instead of four relaying it through Slack.

Stack-agnostic by design. JS, TS, Java, C, C++, Rust. I'll work in whatever the project actually needs. If it's new to me, I'll figure it out. That's the job.

Based in Winchendon, MA, western side of the state. Remote anywhere, local meets welcome.

I also tattoo. New-school traditional, bold lines and saturated color. It isn't what this site sells, but it's where the drawing comes from, and it lives on Instagram: @xcessv.

Fill the brief, hit send. Email or text are best, since I work faster in writing than on a call. If we're a fit, I reply within 48 hours with a scope and a quote, not a calendar invite to align on synergy.
